These pupils raised funds for their school to have a defibrillator

Congrats Burnbrae Primary!

The pupils at Burnbrae Primary have been fundraising for a defibrillator for their school.

The idea came last year after they learned CPR from Kirsty Hamilton and the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Last week the students reached their goal and purchased a defib! We are so proud of all involved. We all have the power to save a life in our hands and these pupils exemplify what it means to be CPR ready!

“This defibrillator is available to anyone needing it, and can shock the heart into starting again after it’s stopped. Every second counts in a cardiac arrest so it’s vital that someone
can step in to perform CPR and use a defibrillator before an ambulance arrives.”

The butcher, on Broughton Street, is the first in Edinburgh to install a defib as part of the ‘Butchers at the Heart of the Community’ campaign which has already seen 40 butchers across Scotland raise funds to provide a defibrillator outside their shop
